Haut-Médoc

The Haut-Medoc is renowned for Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec often added, this is due to the well-drained alluvial gravel terraces favored by Cabernet with the deep clays preferred by Merlot. Haut-Medoc wines are complex and elegant, with red and black berries and licorice, and occasionally menthol on the nose and lively, bright, generous fruit on the palate.
