Saint-Estèphe

Saint-Estèphe is the northern-most wine region of the Médoc and has less gravel, and more clay, than upstream towards Margaux. This heavier soil drains more slowly, which leads to full, robust wines with a reasonably high acidity. Saint-Estèphe offers many exciting, stylish and substantial wines and great value wines can be found from the regions Cru Bourgeois châteaux.
