Spain has more vineyard areas planted than any other European country and produces a diverse range of styles. Historically most famous for Sherry from Jerez and oaky reds from Rioja, but over the last twenty years under widespread investment, we have seen a leap in quality in all regions. The two most famous for the premium tinto are Rioja and Ribera del Duero. We list well known estates, such are Rioja’s Marques de Murrieta, Le Altanza, and Spain’s most prestigious bodegas, Vega Sicilia and Dominio de Pingus from Ribera.
