The Valais is the largest region in Switzerland stretching more than a hundred kilometres along the steep banks of the Rhône. With almost 5,500 hectares of vineyards and more than 50 grape varieties the entire wine production accounts for 40% of the national output. With a warm, dry climate and the “Föhn” wind that accelerates ripening, this is connoisseur heaven. The granite, clay and other diverse soils produce Valais wines that are original and world class.
