Bordeaux 2015 - A reappraisal
Last month we tasted many of the bottled 2015 Grand Crus in London. Some were showing as well as when we tried them out of barrique in 2016, whilst others had closed down. Certainly the rich pure fruit qualities had naturally integrated with the new oak. Several seemed drier and more restrained, especially amongst the left bank Cabernets. Overall, its an outstanding vintage on the right bank, Margaux and Saint Julien. The other appellations produced some excellent wines but are not quite as consistent.
