Romanée-Conti
Domaine Romanée-Conti is the most famous name in Burgundy and make the most expensive wines in the world. The wines are now made from lower yields than of old and the use of biodynamic techniques in the vineyards improves quality of fruit from their exceptional vineyard sites. There are two monopoles (wholly owned vineyards); La Romanée-Conti and La Tâche as well as substantial slices of the Richebourg, Romanée St-Vivant, Échezeaux and Grand- Échezeaux Grand Crus. An additional very small holding (0.68 hectares) in La Montrachet produces the rare white. Winemaking is traditional with whole cluster fermentation and no de-stemming adding depth and structure to the quality of the fruit and underpinning each wine’s elegance as well as concentration. Ageing is in 100% new oak.
