"Amber-colored and packed with 13.8% alcohol abd 124 grams of unfermented sugar, the 15-year-old 2001 Amigne de Vétroz Réserve Mitis offers a clear and aromatic bouquet of apricots followed by a very intense, rich, sweet and elegant palate. Despite its richness and concentration – the grapes were picked on 20th December – this is a very pure and vital wine full of orange flavors, grip and a youthful tension. The finish is still enormously persistent. This is a fascinating rarity from Vétroz! Although the history of Amigne dates back more than 2,000 years (Columella mentioned Vitis aminea in the third book of his De Re Rustica), it is a very rare variety that is exclusively cultivated in the Valais. Of the total of 40 hectares, 30 are located in Vétroz." The Wine Advocate
