Château du Paradis 2015
Paradis is a single-plot 5 hectare stony vineyard on the edge of the Dordogne that was once owned and lost by the Bardot family in the eighteen century. In 2013 the family bought it back again. Their story is expressed graphically on the label, like chinese folklore on porcelain.
The 2015 is their first great vintage to date. Partly barrel fermented for 16 months and half aged in new oak, this claret displays distinctive floral aromatics, a dense yet supple palate with silky fine tannins and incredible length. Each wine is packed in original wooden cases of 6 bottles and individual magnum gift cartons are also available to order at £80 each underbond.
"Fantastic young wine with incredible richness and depth of fruit. Full and savory. Ripe tannins. 67% merlot, 30% cabernet franc and 3% cabernet sauvignon." James Suckling
